More Dead people. Lots more dead people.  There is a very large domed building here that was originally going to be one more church.  And in the middle of all the construction, they had a change in government.  Some politicians lost their heads and The Pantheon was given a new purpose.  It got the honor of keeping the mortal remains of some of France's finest folks. One tomb in particular was an amazement.  Alexander Dumas, Victor Hugo, and Emile Zola are roommates for eternity.  One room, three giants.  Under the big dome is something I only thought existed in theory...Foucault's PendulumIt is amazing to see this thing work.  We stopped at Saint-Etienne church on the way to the Pantheon.  On the way out, we stopped at St. Ephrem''s Church.  This is an Eastern Catholic Church, the original church, before the Romans got control.  It is beautiful.  It is tucked away, and imparts the feeling of a couple of millennium of faith.  It is only a few hundred years old, but seems older.

We had spent time in this neighborhood, before, when we visited this spring.  It has a great used record store.  We picked up a couple of DVDs for entertainment.  This was a great store.  So much media that crossed all cultures.  I picked up a Steve Howe CD of Bob Dylan covers.  We also shopped.  Weird stuff, like coffee presses that froth a milk for latte like there is no tomorrow.  This place was also a lumber yard, of sorts, in DOWNTOWN Paris.  Imagine a Home Depot in the middle of the City of Lights.  This was much smaller, and it was obvious that it accommodated city living.  We saw folks loading lumber out the front door.
